STEVE SMITH
I have recently been through the process of having a dental implant with Dr Pramit Patel. I was extremely nervous at the prospect but Dr Patel constantly reassured me at all times. He is very knowledgeable and I never felt rushed. He followed up every stage with phone calls and appointments. At the end of the process I now have a new tooth that you would think was an original.

Excellent service from Dr Pramit Patel. What a talented dentist - even though he thought I was a Tory! His sense of geography has improved over my time with him. My implant has changed my life and I can smile with confidence again. He’s my favourite dentist.

What is a implant?
Implants are almost like natural teeth. They have a titanium root, an upper connector called an abutment, and the visible white portion called a crown.
There is a minimal pain
Getting a dental implant doesn't require any drilling of your adjacent teeth. The implant is placed in the jaw bone and does not have any pain nerves. There are minimal pain and easier recovery than most other dental procedures.

Gaps in the teeth can cause a person to become self-conscious of affect their eating and functioning habits. At The Walden Dental Clinic we are able to resolve such issues by using dental implants to create full, healthy smiles for our patients.
What is a dental implant?
A dental implant is a titanium screw that is embedded into the jaw bone. After a period of healing, a replacement artificial tooth is placed on top of the screw, filling any gaps and restoring your smile.
Every natural tooth has a root, which acts as an anchor and holds the tooth in the jawbone. The titanium screw used for dental implants, therefore, acts as substitute root for the new artificial tooth that will eventually be fitted.
Dentists use titanium as this metal has been found to have excellent bonding properties with the bone and becomes incorporated into the mouth’s internal system.
Implants are the ideal solution to replace missing teeth due to their strength and stability, natural look, feel and permanence.

A single tooth implant is often used to fill gaps either at the front or the back of the mouth. It is an attractive, natural solution for missing teeth and, if looked after properly, can last a lifetime.
At The Walden Dental Clinic we recommend single tooth implants for patients who would like a permanent solution to their missing teeth. While a dental bridge may also be a suitable solution, implants are often the preferred choice as there is no need for large amounts of preparatory work to the surrounding teeth.
We will always recommend treatment that is minimally invasive and saves as much of your natural tooth as possible.
The All on 4 and All on 6 implant systems give people who have lost multiple teeth the chance to revive their smile and return their mouth to full functionality, all in one day (Same Day Teeth).
The method allows a number of teeth to be implanted all at once, cutting down treatment time, improving quality of life and appearance.
At The Walden Dental Clinic we recommend this treatment for patients who have been long-time denture wearers or for those who have poor quality of jawbone.
With the All on 4 and All on 6 systems, multiple implants are placed into your jawbone during one treatment. We then provide you with a set of temporary replacement teeth which are later replaced with your expertly made, colour-matched permanent replacements.
Prior to starting this sophisticated treatment, we will need to take x-rays and possibly CT scans to ascertain the quality of your jawbone and whether you are suitable for this treatment.
We will then start planning the process over a few appointments to prepare the remaining natural teeth and gums. At the next appointment, the implant process will be carried out and temporary teeth will be fitted until the permanent set are ready and your mouth has fully healed.
Dental Implant used here to replace missing lower premolar.
Treatment takes place over a number of months and requires considerable preparation. The implant will be placed in the jawbone during a minor surgical procedure which can be carried out under local anaesthetic or under intravenous sedation. After a short period of healing, the permanent replacement tooth/teeth with then be fitted.
At The Walden Dental Clinic we offer patients a range of implant options and are experienced in replacing missing teeth to achieve a natural and fully functional result.
